Social media value for those of us running online businesses is much more than it is for the casual Internet user. We depend on building a community of followers – our tribe if you will.

Successfully selling online depends on one’s credibility. Establishing trust is easier when readers circulate our content to their friends. and followers. I call these 3rd party endorsers Credible Messengers. They are known and trusted by people who are yet to meet and know me.

Content sharing is much more valuable to me than paid advertising. You probably first visit health care practitioners because of referrals.

The referral is taken with confidence because your friend or the referring party puts their credibility on the line. You check out the share knowing it is endorsed by someone you trust. Then it is up to the creator to establish their trust factor with you.

When reading items like the one following remember the trust chain starts with the content you want shared. If your content is not worthy it will not get stamps of approval by those sharing. Content is King. . . that never changes. Write and share worthy content and your success journey is much easier.

Our goal as Internet marketers is to create and keep customers. Do that and the money will follow. Treat your customers well and they will stay with you, becoming your Credible Messengers.

Is Social Media Good for Business?

social media 3

So you have a website you promote vigorously through paid advertising. Do you also need social media for online money-making success?

Yes, you do.

Social media is definitely good for business promotion. How often do you click on paid ads compared to considering offers shared on social media? Paid advertising value is not denied. However, when you provide social media content that’s shared your offer taps into a buyer’s psyche differently.

People just react differently to paid ads than they do when something is shared. Shared social media is more benign and friendly. Think of it as a friend speaking directly to you. A friend has a different tone than a commercial on TV or radio.

Consider TV ads with actors people like and speaking in a conversational tone. My unscientific research tells me target demographics listen more to an ad with a likable person talking to the viewer directly.

I don’t know how communications are taught these days, but when I was in school we were instructed to speak to one person when on camera or behind a microphone. Have a mental picture of that one person and speak directly to him/her.

If you’ve developed a profile of your ideal customer it includes a mental image. Some actually write a page or two describing their ideal customer. That person’s likes, dislikes, lifestyle, ambition, goals, social situation and so on. Many include physical descriptions, as well.

Your spoken and written voice must speak to that ideal customer. It’s true people do business with people they like. Your fans like you and the information you provide. Keep that in mind when you create content. Focus on your ideal customer.

Can You Actually Make Money While Sleeping?

You can make money while you sleep.

Sure, you can make money online while you sleep. Many of us do. However, you will not do that immediately by buying some big-promise money-making software or signing up to a money-making program.

Either of those things usually make money only for the people selling them.

Those who make money while sleeping have built businesses that generate income over different time zones all hours of the day. They are affiliate marketers, usually. That’s the easiest method for getting into an Internet business.

Others may be part of an enterprise like MOBE (My Online Business Enterprise). MOBE is a franchise operation. Just like buying a fast food franchise you buy into MOBE and make that a foundation for your Internet business.

I recommend that you learn more about both methods – affiliate marketing and MOBE. Each benefits from a common skill set that’s easy to put into motion.

MOBE is unique and very successful. Learn more by clicking on this link. MOBE guides you through many aspects of making money online with a personal coach, 21-step training program, and many opportunities to meet other members of the MOBE family at local functions and exotic locations.

3 Types of Twitter Ads Getting Blog Traffic

Twitter

Never forget: Traffic is the fuel running your Internet business engine.

Your primary business goal is to create customers. I should say ‘create repeat customers’.  That is how you build a business paying you week after week, month after month, year after year. The key to selling online is traffic. Twitter ads generate good traffic and should be part of your marketing mix.

Anyone can sell something online. I have a revenue stream selling on Amazon and eBay. You can sell something online easily. Try it today. Look around your home or apartment for something of value that you no longer need. Put it on Craig’s List and I bet you sell it in a few days.

I mention Craig’s list because that is the easiest method. Run your ad. Then buyers contact you.  You meet and exchange the item for cash. No checks, please. Cash only.

Although I and others make money selling on Amazon and other e-commerce sites, my sustainable business takes another direction. However, the process is similar.

In all my Internet businesses I seek to optimize and automate the processes. I use Buffer, a free utility, to post many times a day on social media. That’s automation.
