You Are Going To Fail Unless . . .

Don’t let failure get you down.

Don’t get discouraged when starting affiliate marketing. Usually the first things you try will fail. They are a learning experience. Do not give up.

Thomas Edison famously failed 10,000 times trying to invent a working lightbulb. He looked at it this way, “I learned 10,000 ways how not to do it”.

Think of starting an affiliate site like learning a sport. You are going to be somewhat terrible at the beginning. Whether you try skiing, or golf, or skeet shooting, or playing the violin . . . you are not going to be Olympic quality at the beginning.

There are no naturals in anything. Some of us may learn faster or understand nuances easier. Some of us may progress more quickly than others. But we all have to learn.

Do You Have A Tribe?

Working online means many hours in isolation. We sit at our laptop or desktop working at our online business. Usually at home or a handy place like Starbucks. Getting work done requires concentration and blocking out chatter and other people.

We’re social animals by nature and staying in touch digitally isn’t 100% satisfying. Our digital friends are part of our tribe – or we’re part of a larger tribe together. But nothing beats face-to-face contact. Shared experiences bring great rewards.

We all benefit from association with the right people. Who are the right people? How do we meet them? How do they add dimension to our lives? What are the qualities of those you want to have in your circles?

4 Things To Give Up For Success

if-you-can-dream-it-you-can-do-it-walt-disney

Take a moment and think about where you are. Not the street you are on. Think about where you are in life.

How does where you are match with where you wanted to be? I think about this often. It is especially important to me as the year winds down.

What were my plans last January? Am I where I planned to be? Did I achieve what I intended? If not, why not?

You have to give up what you are to be all you can be. That’s just common sense. Most people you value made many changes in their lives. The important changes were internal. They changed attitudes. They changed how life affected them. They determined the person they wanted to be and became that person.

Everyone has the ability to change. The question is, “What about me do I have to change?”

3 Types of Twitter Ads Getting Blog Traffic

Twitter

Never forget: Traffic is the fuel running your Internet business engine.

Your primary business goal is to create customers. I should say ‘create repeat customers’.  That is how you build a business paying you week after week, month after month, year after year. The key to selling online is traffic. Twitter ads generate good traffic and should be part of your marketing mix.

Anyone can sell something online. I have a revenue stream selling on Amazon and eBay. You can sell something online easily. Try it today. Look around your home or apartment for something of value that you no longer need. Put it on Craig’s List and I bet you sell it in a few days.

I mention Craig’s list because that is the easiest method. Run your ad. Then buyers contact you.  You meet and exchange the item for cash. No checks, please. Cash only.

Although I and others make money selling on Amazon and other e-commerce sites, my sustainable business takes another direction. However, the process is similar.

In all my Internet businesses I seek to optimize and automate the processes. I use Buffer, a free utility, to post many times a day on social media. That’s automation.

3 Words For Success

success-concept-related-words Too often we over simplify complex processes. Equally often we make some things more complex than they are.

We avoid that clash of concepts by knowing what’s complex naturally and what’s not. Think of how easy our life is when we take a moment to read a manual before using the gizmo we bought to make life easier.

Yep. I’m a ‘real man’ and I read manuals!

We venture into the unknown when starting something new to us. Our chance of success is greater when we learn how to take first steps before we run.

Doesn’t that make sense?
