The # 1 success killer is giving up.
That’s it. People fail because they give up.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Giving up is easy to do. It may be painful and emotional. But it is easy. You just stop. A lot like pulling to the side of the road, turning off the engine, and wondering what to do next.
Many of us are simply lost. We want to our lives in one way or another but do not know how. We hear of people making money online. And buy their courses. And promises of money-making software.
“You cannot buy game,” golfers say.
Meaning your score will not lower with new equipment. The answer to seeking directions to NYCs Carnegie Hall is “practice, practice, practice.” That’s an old joke. But good advice
My grandfather taught me how to catch fish with a handline, hook, and bait. No expensive rod and reel is needed. The same for catching crabs. No expensive trap. Just the experience of knowing how to use a baited handline.
Why are you in business?
Or why do you want to start an online business? What is the compelling reason for doing so?
Over the years consulting to brick and mortar businesses in varied industries there are certain questions I ask owners and managers. I need to determine where they are in their thinking about the business. It doesn’t matter if the company is new. Or in business for decades. The question is where is the company on the day of my questions?
And the company is usually where the owner/manager’s thinking is.
Is management inspired with specific goals in mind? Some say, “I want to increase revenue.” Okay, but why and how do you plan to do it? And what is standing in your way?”
Imagination stimulated the desire to start the business. A lack of imagination kills business growth.
What you know gets you started. What you do not know kills you.
Most often we start with why the person started the business. Or why they want to manage the business or department. I’ve found many managers do not want to manage. And owners simply didn’t want to work for someone else. So they started on their own. Many businesses flounder with no sense of direction. And no reason to be taken seriously.
Online Success
Making money online is relatively easy. There’s no or little startup expense. And the expense of operation is rather small. The hard part is learning how to properly do what’s necessary to make money online.
If you just want to make money sell stuff on eBay.
Look at your possessions. Pick one and offer it on eBay. That’s merely making money online. Do it again and again and you have a business.
If you want an online business act like you’re operating a business. Anyone can make money selling oranges or flowers at a freeway off-ramp. When you supply oranges or flowers to the people selling at the off-ramp you have a business.
Many offers come your way. Buy this or that and customers beat on your digital door. Sadly, that’s not usually true. There are valid tools one can use. But most of us never learn how to use them properly
Successful people don’t stand still.
You must grow your business. If you bring in the same revenue this year as last you are behind. Inflation assures that. You must keep moving.
It’s estimated that 80% of people buying online training never complete the course. Here’s a link to free resources. How many people reading this will click on that link? How many will take action? And it is free!
You are the killer of your success. And you do not have to be.
