5 Reasons Why Your Blog Isn’t Getting Enough Readers

So you’ve taken the plunge. Started your blog. Whether its to share your thoughts promote affiliate products or earn revenue through ads blogging can be quite a fulfilling endeavor.

However if you’re, like bloggers out there you might be facing the reality that your posts aren’t getting the traction you hoped for. Here are a few reasons why;

1. Your content

May not be hitting the mark in terms of providing information. With countless blog posts already covering topics like “things to do in XYZ place ” it’s crucial to carve out a specialized niche and offer genuine value. For instance, writing about the ” spots for cuisine in Denver” caters to a specific audience searching for this specific information.

2. Building connections is key.

A significant aspect of driving traffic to your blog involves establishing a network of backlinks—these are links leading back to your site, from blogs or websites.
One effective approach is to connect with others and contribute guest posts to their blogs under the condition that you can include some links, to your site.

3. Failing to establish relationships can hinder your progress.

Ensure your website includes a contact button or form to gather emails. Another strategy is to publish blog content and share it on social media platforms attracting a flow of visitors to your site. The goal is to cultivate a readership that not only boosts your audience numbers but also shares your content with others if they find it valuable.

4. The appearance of your website matters.

If visitors land on your blog and it resembles a screen from Pac-Man Man they are likely to leave within minutes—unless, of course, you are targeting Pac-Man enthusiasts. Your website should exude professionalism featuring well-designed architecture that caters, to users as well.

5. Avoid trying to sound like Shakespeare

Unless you are specifically targeting a sophisticated audience.
To make your blog more reader-friendly, use sentences breaking up paragraphs and incorporating plenty of visuals. SEO specialists may advocate for content (exceeding 2,000 words) but it’s crucial to consider the reader’s perspective well—many readers can only handle about half that length.

Extras

The post above has a difficult Flesch Reading Ease, which means it is written at the 12th-grade level. I wrote that at that level to make a point. Our goal is to make it easy for virtually anyone to read. Earnest Hemingway wrote at the 5th-grade level, and insurance policies are written at a postgraduate level.

I try to write at a lower grade level. That ensures more readers and more shares. No one wants to fight through a complicated written post or article.
