Yoast.com is my SEO resource. I have installed it on this site. Why? you may ask.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Use the Yoast link and look through the many articles describing SEO. Simply put, as on the Yoast site,
SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimization. It’s the practice of optimizing your web pages to make them reach a high position in the search results of Google and other search engines. This means that people will be more likely to encounter your website when searching online. SEO focuses on improving the rankings in the organic – aka non-paid – search results. If you have a website and you want to get more traffic, there’s no doubt about it: SEO should be part of your marketing efforts.
In this blog post, I will dwell on an important SEO component.
Yes, our content is a key SEO element. One of the main things you need to consider when performing search engine optimization is the actual content of your website. You want fresh, original, well-written content.
The search engines actually read the content on your site and file it away for later. Then whenever someone searches for a term they will go through what they have read and decide which site best fits the searcher criteria.
Search engines use spiders
Spiders are bits of code that constantly crawl the Internet examining everything. Yes, everything! Search engines such as Google file the spider gathered information. The search engine retrieves your site upon request. Most successful searches are based on long-tail keywords.
Think of it this way. You can search for “baseball“. But if you want to learn how to play your keywords must include more data. Enter in your browser search bar “how to play baseball in North Carolina” and see what comes up. Try “how to play youth baseball in Charlotte North Carolina” and see what the search engine delivers.
The search phrases used in the previous paragraph are examples of long-tail.
The initial content helps the search engine spider figure out a theme of the site or page.
So, if the spider determines a certain page on your site mainly deals with car headlamps it will keep that in mind. Then whenever someone searches for car headlamps it will figure out which site is most relevant to that term to place as number one.
There are more factors that go into it when determining which site to rank first, but the content is one of the big ones.
Your job is to learn how to make this work to your advantage. I use Long Tail Pro for many years and recommend it highly. Click on the link and get a $1 trial of a great tool. (Yes, I am an affiliate).
It is best to build individual pages around each term that you have determined fits the theme of your site. And, you will want to use your key phrases within the actual content itself.
Yoast prompts me for each aspect of content SEO. My head would explode if I tried to work it out for myself.
I believe You do not want to use the keyword phrase too much because then the search engine will sense that you are trying too hard to force your word into the content
It may actually penalize you. It can penalize you by lowering your ranking or not even considering your site in the results at all. A good rule is to use a one to two percent keyword density. So, if your content is 500 words, you can safely use the phrase about five times.
By using the term that much you will help the search engine understand the content is related to that word without trying to spam the search engine.
Search engine optimization takes work and patience. And, if you use someone to do it for you it can take an investment as well. But, the targeted traffic you can obtain from using it can be quite valuable. If you set it up correctly, you will have something marketing your business for you all hours of the day with little work on your part.
And, you will have traffic that comes to you looking for answers or solutions to immediate problems. That means hungry buyers and more money in your pocket.
