How to Write an Authority Blog Post in 15-Minutes or Less

Posted on November 20, 2020November 19, 2020

Many of us struggle writing blog posts and sales letters. We’re dealing with fact, not creating fiction. Some things simply are. Some questions have simple answers.

There is no reason to struggle writing authority blog posts.

Try this approach to writing your next blog post.

First

Be yourself. Don’t try to write like someone else. Write the way you speak. If necessary use a voice to text application and talk your post.

Second

Write to a friend. Always keep someone in mind, preferably your ideal customer (avatar). Speak to them with your written words.

Third

Whatever the topic of your authority blog chose a question unique to that topic. Then provide a simple, concise answer.

For this discussion let’s use skin care as our authority blog topic.

Use a search engine (Google, Bing, and Yahoo) and query Dry Skin Questions. I checked and Google returned 16,000,000 responses in 0.39 seconds. Using the first organic response (not an ad) I chose “Why is moisture important for the skin?”

If you’re writing an authority blog on skin care you already know the answer. Use the question “Why is moisture important for the skin?” as your blog headline. Then write your answer.

Another approach

Use questions from subscribers as authority blog topics. Don’t just reply to a question in a comment section of your blog. Each question is a topic headline. Each answer is your authority blog post.

Many questions have answers of 25 words or less. Flesh out your answer, touching on topic nuances. Give examples and highlight situations for variations on the major answer. Try for 250 words in each blog post.

Long Form Posts

For long form posts link two or three questions and answers. Pick questions related to a common theme. Use subheads for emphasis and eye attention.

When you have a dozen or so authority blog posts on a common theme pull them together as an eBook. Use that book as a lead magnet to build your list.

Do not struggle with authority blog posts. Write them and put them into your blog schedule. If your authority blog has seasonal attributes and a fall question comes to you in the spring write the post. Then file it away for the fall. Or, if using WordPress, add it to your authority blog and schedule an appropriate date for publication.

I assume you have an authority blog to make money online. Keep the money-making in mind when writing and posting. Your authority blog is an ingredient in your sales funnel. Ensure each post fits with the authority blog goals.

Meet Reader/Subscriber Expectations

Always be true to your subscribers. Your readers expect authoritative answers, not just hype. Give them substance and your sales will come. Follow general rules for authority blogs and you can be successful at your Internet business.
