I remember how difficult it once was finding things on the Internet. That changed when search engines like Google and Yahoo made it possible to find most anything on the web in seconds. While writing this I entered “most popular cattle breed in Kenya” in Google and got 493,000 results an instant later.
Search engines make it easy for us to find information of all kinds whether video, text or images online. Internet marketers need to know to make it easy for customers to find their products online. That’s where keywords and search engines come into play.
Keywords are what we enter as a query in a search engine. Whether we use Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube or any other, the key to finding anything is accurate keywords. Think of my example above searching Kenyan cattle and how many different ways we can search that topic. English speakers do not all speak English alike. In the U.S. regional speech patterns result in different word sequences. Different urbans backgrounds do the same.
How would a cattle industry person query Kenyan cattle? Or an ecologist? Perhaps an economist would use different words entirely. The Internet marketer’s task is finding as many keywords as generally used for searching for a customer solution online. That’s a basis of SEO – Search Engine Optimization.
There are 40 or more tags attached to this post. Those tag words and phrases allow Internet users to find this post for information it contains. My Internet ads have many thousands of keywords in the ad structure. Most of those are long-tails.
Long-tail keywords are those three and four keyword phrases which are very, very specific to whatever you are selling. The goal is to attract buyers. Whenever a customer uses a highly specific search phrase, they tend to be looking for exactly what they are actually going to buy. Although the Internet is a broad selling opportunity, there is competition and your goal is to create customers. One method is using long-tail keywords wherever you can.
There’s a lot of talk about SEO (search engine optimization) and how to get web sites ranked. SEO can be very confusing to some of us. Sure, it takes some study and understanding. But, SEO is not your Internet business driver. Providing product or services to customers is the driver. SEO is just one component of your Internet marketing mix.
A top Internet earning friend pays no attention to SEO. His belief is good content trumps SEO. I agree . . . to a point. That friend is also one of the best known Internet marketers. His brand, in my opinion, is what trumps SEO. Yes, his content is good. It’s great actually. But he has one of the strongest Internet brands around.
Look at the list below. Google is the #1 search engine. YouTube is #3. I do not pay much attention to Google ranking because for me it is too expensive to get there. When a product of mine hits a high Google placement keywords are the reason. Google ranking is important and expensive to achieve. YouTube ranking is easier and much less expensive to achieve. That’s why I use a lot of video for my niche sites and landing pages.
Internet marketing is not hit or miss. You just need to know what you are doing. I like Facebook ads. They deliver results for many products. You just have to know how to get the most from your ad placement. This link takes you to Facebook training that pays for itself quickly.
I favor starting PPC ads on Bing and Yahoo (5 & 17 on the list below) because Bing ads run on Yahoo, also. And Bing ads are much, much cheaper than Google. After a campaign proves on Bing then I may add Google PPC.
Internet money-making depends on traffic. Learn the best methods to get traffic here. That link takes you to Traffic Masters academy. When I speak of traffic I mean buyers, not just clicks. The best way to get buyers is using long-tail keywords. I use two excellent tools researching keywords and long-tails.
Keyword Snatcher is easy to use and is very effective researching keywords for multiple purposes. For a long time I ignored SEO, not paying much attention to keywords. I learned my lesson and now effectively research and employ keywords in all posts and niche research.
The other indispensible keyword research tool I use is Long Tail Pro. There are a few things in common with Keyword Snatcher, but Long Tail Pro gives me data that I don’t get with other programs. I recommend both for serious affiliate marketers, especially those working more than one niche.
I encourage you to visit Alexa.com and look at the list of the 500 top websites worldwide. There’s a lot to learn about which network to use for PPC advertising. Research tools offer great data – if you know what the data points mean. Most research tools offer training and easy-to-understand explanations of data sets.
If you are new to Internet marketing you do not want to get mired in a lot of stuff hard to understand. Newbies are advised to start with all-in-one programs like My Top Tier Business (MTTB). MTTB is a great way to start an online business. It offers 21-step training, one-on-one coaching, and a money-back guarantee. Many people worldwide now earn excellent monthly income via MTTB. You should look into it.
Advanced IMs (Internet Marketers) do very well with MTTB. Top Internet money-makers bring in $1,000,000 a year and more as evidenced by MTTB YouTube channel event videos. Do you know that in the USA the top 1% make $350,000 a year and up. Many of them do it online.
Don’t fret if you do not understand SEO or how to use keywords. There are many training tools available. There are also many YouTube videos explaining SEO and how best to use keywords in your Internet marketing.
