I regularly listen to several podcasts. And I’m not alone.

According to a survey, 62 million Americans – that’s approximately 20% of the country’s total population – listen to podcasts each week. Since Apple added podcasts to the iTunes store, they reported over 1.6 billion subscriptions and 20 billion downloads.

Podcasts allow me to listen to those knowing more of a subject than I. I can listen anytime and anywhere. I consider podcasts part of my continuing education.

I’ve been considering podcasting for quite a while. Most likely I’ll begin airing a weekly podcast by July 1st. Although my days are full and podcasting time is not available today it is something my brand needs. One consideration is setting up a simple studio. Nothing elaborate, just a simple setup allowing for good sound quality and ease of use.
