Get More From Twitter

Twitter

I schedule 6 or more tweets a day and tweet randomly when something of value comes to mind. I also use Twitter as a key part of my Internet advertising for niche sites and product offers.

However, the 140 character max tweet does pose a few problems. That’s especially true when attaching an image to a tweet. Ann Smarty knows Twitter and posted the following article recently. I’m passing it along to you and hope you try some of the recommended tools.

Build your Internet business presence with all available media – especially those that deliver like Twitter does for me.

Tweet Productively: Tools to Break Long Text into Tweets Easily

Posted by Ann Smarty to Social Media

Twitter is a great platform, but the microblogging nature of it can be a flaw for many. In the beginning the use of 140 characters made sense. Now it is a little harder to conform to that size, and people are always trying to find ways around it.

Luckily, there are tools that let you break down long texts, or circumvent the rule. These five are must-haves for your bookmark list.

Tall Tweets

Tall Tweets gives you two options for extending your tweet: create tweetstorms (multiple posts that make up a larger discussion on your feed), or a text image that people can view and read. Both allow you to get over the 140 character limit in a readable way.

In addition, you can use a highlighter in the text to make certain words or sentences stand out to the reader.

NEW: Affiliate Disclosure You Need To Read

This just in from Sugarrae Hoffman – Please read

I’ve discussed the FTC Disclosure guidelines multiple times in past issues of Sound Bites. Most of the examples the FTC provides in all of its documentation is aimed at influencer marketing. Big Box Store Internet Marketing Lessons

Online business

Surprising the Internet marketing lessons you learn when shopping at a big box DIY store.

I went to one nearby to pick up a couple of items. Inside the entrance was a simple display manned by an eager looking duo that captured no one’s attention.

Usually the first thing people do when entering is look up at direction signs taking them to where products are they’ve come to buy. A blah display for solar power gets no one’s attention.

I spoke with the solar power folks for a moment asking how many sales they get selling as they were. You can guess the answer.

Why do so many companies market so poorly? What’s the upside to paying a couple of folks to stand for hours behind a banner giving no reason for anyone to pay attention? Oh, by the way, I understand private residence solar power installation isn’t doing well these days.

Searching for what I wanted to buy store signage gave me only general direction. No personnel were available to direct me to what I needed. It took too long to find what I wanted.

On my way to checkout something caught my eye and I asked about it. Yeah, before I could not find someone to help with my purchase. But, it was easy to grab a worker to ask about something in my sight line I didn’t need or want.

That pleasant guy knew nothing about the product. Although he worked in that department he could not answer any basic questions. Nor did he direct me to the store’s web site for information. I could see a few computer terminals nearby. It would be very easy to take me to one and look up the item on the store’s site. Nah. Nothing like that happened.

So, what did I learn Internet marketing lessons did I take away from that shopping experience?

We can always do better marketing our jams and jellies, especially when sending offers to our list(s). After all, the money is in the list – right? And email is the cheapest component of our marketing mix – yes it is.

The subject line gets the email opened. The opening line gets the email read. Pay more attention – it only takes a moment or two – to your subject lines.

Here’s Noah Kagan’s SumoMe list. Study it and use the ideas to get more opens and more sales.
